List of Beginning Montessori Math Lessons

Here is a list of the foundational Beginning Montessori math lesson presentations for young children in the Absorbent Mind (up to age 6) stage of development. The lessons each focus on introducing one concept at a time in a concrete way with few words. This helps children build focus and deep understanding. Concepts are first presented separately to isolate the concept, then combined. Both Counting and the base ten number system are presented in a complete, systematic way. The four operations are introduced with the concrete materials of the golden beads, plus the large and small number cards. At this stage, nothing is recorded on paper because the purpose is to build impressions and understanding, and young children are still developing motor skills.
